Luxembourg Sinfonietta
New CD out now!
Luxembourg Sinfonietta is an ensemble of variable composition. Depending on the works
scheduled, it can consist of wind instruments (flutes, clarinets, saxophones, horns and tuba),
strings (violins, viola and cello), percussion instruments, a piano and the less common
instruments accordion, mandolin, guitar and harpsichord. For the first concerts of the
Luxembourg Sinfonietta, the LGNM (Luxembourg Society for Contemporary Music)
launched an appeal on its website for composers all over the world to write pieces for the new
ensemble. Amongst the works presented, there are eight world permières which have recently
been presented on a CD (LGNM No. 401).
