The Luxembourgish soprano Mariette Lentz began her musical education at the Ettelbruck
and Luxembourg Conservatories and completed her voice training in Brussels, whilst
studying languages and teaching methods, and in Cologne at the "Musikhochschule Köln"
with Edith Kertesz-Gabry. Her flexible, lyrical soprano lends itself not only to the baroque
and italian bel canto repertoire, but also to contemporary works (Henze, Nono, Berio,
Cage). As a soloist in oratorios, passions, masses, recitals and chamber music ensembles,
she has performed in most European countries where she worked with important orchestras.
Her commitment to contemporary music has earned her engagements with the Luxembourg
and the Mannheim National Theatres. Many works for soprano and orchestra, operas and
song-cycles have been first performed by her.
