Marco Pütz, born in 1958, began his musical studies at the Conservatories of Esch-sur-Alzette and Luxembourg, then went on to his higher studies at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels (higher diploma with major distinction in saxophone and in chamber music) and of Liege (advanced diploma in harmony and orchestral conduction).

He has composed 30 works since 1987, eight of which are for wind band. In 1995 Marco Pütz won the first prize in the International Clarinet Association Contest in the USA with his Quartet for clarinets. In 1997 he was awarded a third prize in the "II Concorso internazionale di composizione Augusto Cagnon" in Treviso, Italy for his Concertino for Horn and Band. The works of Marco Pütz are published by Musica Mundana by the Brosheim Verlag, and have been performed in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Latvia, Slovenia, the USA and Russia.

Marco Pütz is a teacher at the Luxembourg Conservatory and a founding member of the Quatuor de Saxophones de Luxembourg.

Il s’est perfectionné au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, où il a obtenu un diplôme "avec distinction" en saxophone et "avec grande distinction" en musique de chambre, et au Conservatoire royal de Liège, où il a reçu un premier prix en harmonie et en direction d’orchestre.

Marco Pütz a composé une trentaine d’œuvres, dont neuf pour grand orchestre à vents. La plupart de ses compositions sont publiées chez Musica Mundana, Hollande/Allemagne et chez Bronsheim, Hollande. En 1993 il a remporté le premier prix du "International Clarinet Association Contest" aux États-Unis avec son Quatuor pour clarinettes. En 1997 son Concertino for Horn and Band a reçu le 3e prix du "II Concorso Internazionale di Composizione Augusto Cagnon" à Trévise en Italie. Ses oeuvres sont publiées sur CD par les maisons d'éditions Antes et Musica Mundana. Les compositions de Marco Pütz ont été jouées au Luxembourg, en Belgique, France, Allemagne, Hollande, Lituanie, au Portugal, aux États-Unis et en Russie.

Depuis 1986 Marco Pütz est professeur de saxophone au Conservatoire de musique de la Ville de Luxembourg. Il est membre fondateur du Quatuor de saxophones de Luxembourg et depuis 1991, saxophoniste de l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.
