Camille Kerger was born in Luxembourg in 1957, studied at the Conservatories of Luxembourg and Metz as well as at the "Musikhochschule" in Düsseldorf. As a trombone player, he held a major role in the development of several musical ensembles. As a lyric tenor he is regularly invited to sing in concerts, both in Luxembourg and abroad.

Camille Kerger has written chamber music pieces, songs, works for choir and for orchestra. A new production of his opera for children Il Signor Drago, which was commissioned by the "Théâtre municipal de Luxembourg", was given at the Toulouse Opera in April 1997.

He currently teaches at the Luxembourg Conservatory and has a training role at the European Institute for Choral Singing. As a teacher, Camille Kerger emphasizes an open and interactive training approach which fits into a general education programme, and thus prefers broad-based and practical groundwork to the early specialisation which is common today.

Il a écrit une quarantaine de compositions dont huit oeuvres pour orchestre symphonique. Ses oeuvres ont été interprétées par les ensembles Musica Aeterna (Luxembourg), Sigma (Luxembourg), Alter Ego (Rome), Atelier Musique (Paris), Travnicek (Bratislava), Gaudeamus (Amsterdam), Parnassus (Londres), Ensemble Vocal de Luxembourg, le duo Kraus-Marinova (Luxembourg), le duo Zanetti-Turina (Madrid), l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg et l’Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse. Son opéra de chambre Mélusina et son opéra pour enfants Il Signor Drago ont connu un vif succès lors de leur création. Son spectacle pour enfants Tschirkolorado a été crée au Festival de Wiltz, Luxembourg. Le "Nationaltheater Mannheim", en collaboration avec le Théâtre national du Luxembourg a créé son opéra Rinderwahn.

Camille Kerger enseigne dans la classe d’Art lyrique et dans la classe de direction du chant choral au Conservatoire de musique de la Ville de Luxembourg. Il est directeur artistique des Amis de l’opéra de Luxembourg et membre fondateur du Théâtre national du Luxembourg.
